WTF is wrong with MC. They mistreat you and never thx you for saving them (4 eyed and those two other female Oni) but still beg them to fight like they're the one who save you. That suit belong to you since you made contract. Just when i thought MC will make up his mind, take that bracelet back somehow, and fight alone then those shitty group will beg MC to fight with them. What a disappointment.

I think my problem with the cgi in this show isn't the models, but the animation. The walk cycles are stiff, and there are so many frames, probably to try and make it look smooth, that everything ends up looking slow instead.
Almost nothing flows naturally, and it hurts nearly everything about the art. Like, even if the models look good, if their hair moves like clay it's gonna look bad overall.
Imo, all the stuff besides the fight scenes should've been animated on twos or threes, (I'm not sure you can do that in cgi since i'm only familiar with 2d animation lol) or the action should be faster in general.

The mechs look good though, probably because robots don't have flowing movement the way people do. That, and they usually only appear in action scenes. Fast action is one of the places where animating on ones ends up adding to the clarity of the action rather than making it look slow, so the fight scenes look really good in general. The facial expressions of the mechs (specifically in episode 1 when protag-kun meets Ibara) are nice and snappy. Here's hoping they keep the good stuff as the show continues.

For those who don't do animation, animating on ones or twos refers to the number of frames you hold an image for. Ones being a new image for every frame, twos is one image every two frames and so on. Like I said though, I'm not even sure you can do this with cgi.
I dabble in 2d, but have never tried cgi since my computer can't run the software lmao

Seems like a decent watch, but, the presentation feels robotic in more ways than just their suits. CGI still has a long way to go before it'll look as good as drawn content, but this isn't the worst offender out there so it's passable as entertainment, I like the connection between the Oni and the MC kid, totally Power Rangers feel to it.

Okay I smell some Kamen Rider Den-O and Revice from this and costume designs are similar to that one mecha anime that got released a few years ago and Ex-Aid. Hmm. But it also has Super Sentai vibe.

imo the 3d animations feel like a cheap videogame, and detract from the art form that attracted me to anime in the first place.

Something I thought about from the first episode. Oka is a massive upgrade from Zordon in various ways.

Why are people so obsessed with how an anime looks? trust me this isnt even the worst, get over yourselves.

How an anime looks is kind of important. Sure, there are other factors that are more important like story and character development, but how it looks does matter. You've got to at least have the other stuff to balance out an anime that doesn't look great. If you just get annoyed watching something it's not worth it. This one isn't the worst in terms of bad cgi, it kind of works for the scenes with the suits, but I can totally understand why other people might not be able to handle it.

I wish more people thought like this. Some don't even care to think about the story and character development, but just drop it on the first episode cause its CGI. Leaves so many good anime underrated, cause they don't get a good studio for their adaptation from the manga.
